Kediri Dholo KOM 2023: Now From Kediri, To Kediri, For Kediri

After only two years, Kediri Dholo KOM have become one of the most popular climbing event in Indonesia. For 2023, we are changing the format, to make it easier for cyclists to enjoy the event. Previously, it's a two-day event. The first is a fun ride from Surabaya to Kediri, and then followed by a climbing day to the peak near Dholo Waterfall, just outside of Kediri.

This year, Kediri Dholo KOM is a one-day event. Starts in Kediri, finish in Dholo Climb. On Sunday, 24 September, participants will start the event by riding together around Kediri. Visiting beautiful sites, such as Simpang Lima Gumul (Kediri's Arc Du Triomphe), before regrouping and beginning the procession for the race.

The 17,5 kilometer KOM segment is the same as in previous years. Still challenging, still iconic. The main challenge --or "attraction"-- is still Kelok 9. A twisting section with 17 percent gradient, mimicking Lombard Street in San Francisco. It's a natural theatre of cycling, with steps on each side for people to watch and cheer! And don't forget the steeper "Gigi 1" (First Gear) section right after Kelok 9, peaking at 24 percent!

Kediri Dholo KOM 2023 is also the final race of "East Java Trilogy 2023", after Bromo KOM and Banyuwangi Blue Fire Ijen KOM. At the top of Dholo, we will not only award the winner of the race, but also the overall winner of the Trilogy.

Kediri Dholo KOM 2023: Kini dari Kediri, ke Kediri, untuk Kediri

Hanya dalam dua tahun, Kediri Dholo KOM telah menjadi salah satu event climbing paling populer di Indonesia. Untuk 2023, kami mengubah formatnya. Memudahkan para cyclist untuk lebih menikmati event ini. Sebelumnya, ini adalah event dua hari. Diawali dengan gowes bareng dari Surabaya ke Kediri, disusul dengan hari menanjak ke puncak dekat Air Terjun Dholo di Kabupaten Kediri.

Tahun ini, Kediri Dholo KOM menjadi event yang terfokus dalam satu hari. Start di Kediri, finish di Tanjakan Dholo. Pada Minggu, 24 September, peserta akan mengawali event dengan bersepeda bersama keliling Kediri. Mengunjungi lokasi-lokasi menarik, seperti Simpang Lima Gumul yang mirip Arc Du Triomphe di Paris. Peserta kemudian regrouping, memulai prosesi lomba menuju Dholo.

Segmen tanjakan KOM masih sama dengan sebelumnya, sepanjang 17,5 kilometer. Masih sangat menantang, masih sangat iconic. Atraksi utamanya masih sama, yaitu Kelok 9. Bagian berkelok-kelok dengan kemiringan konstan 17 persen, mirip Jalan Lombard yang kondang di San Francisco. Bagian ini seperti teater alam, karena ada tangga di kedua sisi, tempat orang bisa menonton dan menyoraki! Bagi peserta, Kelok 9 langsung disusul dengan cobaan tambahan. Yaitu bagian "Gigi 1" dengan kemiringan mencapai 24 persen.

Kediri Dholo KOM 2023 juga merupakan lomba penutup "Trilogi Jawa Timur 2023." Poin akan diberikan di garis finis, seperti di dua event sebelumnya, Bromo KOM dan Banyuwangi Blue Fire Ijen KOM. Jadi, di puncak Dholo, bukan hanya pemenang event yang mendapat penghargaan. Juara overall Trilogi juga akan dinobatkan di sana.
